Suncoast Center is a
major provider of community mental health services for low-income
individuals and families in Pinellas County.
The agency works actively toward eliminating the stigma associated
with mental illness and to promote an understanding of mental
illness as a treatable, manageable disease.
Suncoast Center currently provides services at 49 locations in
Pinellas County which include schools and various community centers,
senior centers, dining sites, clients' homes, homeless shelters and
jail in addition to agency offices. We also provide specialized
services in Hillsborough, Pasco and Manatee counties. Programs
available to clients of all ages include outpatient and case
management services, which consist of assessment, treatment
planning, medication management, counseling and service
coordination. We also offer for children and families, Early
Intervention, Foster Care Overlay, Specialized Parenting, several
school-based programs and TANF mental health counseling. Suncoast
Center is licensed to provide a variety of substance abuse treatment
programs for both adults and children who suffer from both mental
illness and substance abuse.
Over 13,347 children, adults and seniors are served annually.
Funding is received from various federal, state and local sources.
